Fear of lockdown: Migrant laborers begin migrating from Gurugram after night curfew in Haryana.

In view of the increasing cases of corona infection across the country, after Delhi-NCR, migrant workers have started migrating from Gurugram once again due to the night curfew imposed in Haryana and possible lockdown.

The migrant workers living and working in Gurugram have started returning to their homes fearing the work curfew and the imposition of lockdown due to the night curfew imposed in view of the increase in COVID-19 cases. Since Tuesday morning, a large crowd of migrants had started gathering at the bus station of Gurugram. This time everyone was struggling to reach their home as soon as possible.

However, Dr. Yash Garg, DM of Gurugram made it clear on Tuesday that at present there is no situation of lockdown in the district. Night curfew has been imposed from 9 am to 5 am. He appealed to the migrant workers to ignore the rumors and stay here.

Night curfew also implemented in Haryana

The Haryana government imposed a night curfew in the state with immediate effect on Monday amid an increase in corona virus cases. Haryana Home and Health Minister Anil Vij said that between 9 am and 5 am, the night curfew will be imposed from Monday night and it will remain in force till further orders. He said that this decision has been taken in view of the recent increase in Kovid-19 cases in the state.

Vij said that the situation would be assessed after a few days, after which a decision would be taken to continue the night curfew. According to the order, however, there will be no restriction on transportation of essential and non-essential items within the state and transport from state to state. Persons engaged in emergency and municipal services, law and services, police, military and paramilitary personnel are exempted from curfew. Vij said that the Additional Chief Secretaries of Home, Health and Urban Local Bodies Departments have been directed to ensure that people wear masks and follow all other guidelines related to Kovid-19.

The order states that there will be a ban on movement of persons for all non-essential activities in Haryana from 9 am to 5 am. It states that limited movement curfew passes issued exclusively by authorized authorities have been exempted from this. It said that hospitals, drug shops and ATMs would be open round the clock. Also, concession will be given to pregnant women and patients seeking medical services and passengers returning to or from the airport or railway stations. Accordingly, the violators of the orders will be dealt with under the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.

Let us tell you that some such reports related to migrant laborers migration are also coming from other cities of Delhi-NCR, from where people have started returning to their homes.
