The process of reopening the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus is continuing after the closure announced under the aegis of Corona. Meanwhile, there have been cases of corona infection in the JNU campus. There are currently 27 confirmed cases of corona infection on the JNU campus, of which 24 are students. After this, the university administration has now decided to intensify surveillance to ensure adherence to the corona protocol in the hostel.
In view of the increasing cases of Corona, the universities of Delhi have also started taking steps for rescue. JNU and Jamia have imposed strict rules on the premises to protect against Corona.
72-hour old RT-PCR report to be shown
JNU has advised the students staying on campus not to leave unnecessarily. At the same time, other people, including guests coming from other places including Maharashtra, will have to show the RTPCR Corona Negative Report of 72 hours duration, or 14 days of segregation before entering. JNU Registrar Prof. Anirban Chakraborty issued a directive in this regard on Sunday, saying that monitoring is necessary.
Fines if caught without masks in the premises.
In order to ensure adherence to the Corona Protocol at JNU, the Registrar directed hostel warden and provost to spread awareness. At the same time, the Dean of Student Welfare has been asked to make new guidelines. Along with this, the Registrar has asked all the personnel including the students to wear masks from the road to the dhabas, streets, hostels, library and office. The Registrar has made a provision for fines in the event of not being caught wearing a mask. The Registrar has issued eight point guidelines in this regard. Under which the students of NSS and NCC have been asked to adopt measures to spread social awareness in this regard. Similarly, shop and dhabas located in the premises have been asked to deliver goods only to the person wearing the mask. If the shop and dhaba owners are caught not following this rule, they may have to keep their establishment closed for two days as punishment.
